Il faut passer l'ID du fabricant + n° du modèle au pilote "scanner" en créant un fichier dans "/etc/modutils" (scanner-epson1260 par exemple) et y mettre la ligne suivante : "options scanner vendor=0x04b8 product=0x011D" Voir le lien suivant pour d'autres scanners : "http://www.gjaeger.de/scanner/usb/Plustek-USB-fr.txt"

La Kanotix est dérivée de la knoppix et possède dans la version KANOTIX-BUG-HUNTER-07-2004-A un noyau 2.6.6. Apres installation et recompilation avec un noyau 2.6.7, je ma suis rendu compte que mon scanner HP scanjet 5200C n'était pas reconnu. Apres avoir fait un petit tour sur plusieurs forums, il s'agirait d'un problème de configuration de la reconnaissance à chaud (hotplug).
